It all began one unexpected night in Washington, DC. Dimitri wasn’t supposed to go out — family dinner was on the calendar — but when friends urged him to join their event, he went. Afterwards, they stopped at a quiet downtown bar. That’s where he saw her.

Lo sat with a friend, radiant and poised. The bar was nearly empty, but Dimitri had an idea. He started dancing — not just a little, but all across the room. He hoped she’d notice. She did.

Eventually, he sat beside her, gently took her hand, kissed it, and asked, “Would you date a white man?”

She laughed.

“I’m 45,” he added, “Is that okay?”

Another smile. Another yes.

And from that spontaneous moment, their story unfolded — full of joy, laughter, and deep connection.

To honor that spark, Dimitri planned a proposal on the soft sands of Chania Beach. Beneath a custom floral arch — vibrant with roses, peonies, and summer color — he asked her to write the next chapter of their story with him.

She said yes again. And this time, forever.
